About Kingpin

Kingpin is a free, browser-based drug trading strategy game. No downloads, no sign-ups required — just open the site and start playing. It works on desktop, tablet, and mobile.

The Inspiration

If you ever played Drug Wars on a TI-83 calculator during a boring maths lesson, or lost hours to Drug Lord on an early PC, Kingpin is the modern successor you've been waiting for. The core concept is timeless: buy low in one city, sell high in another, and try not to get killed along the way.

Kingpin takes that simple formula and builds on it with 25+ real-world cities, a global leaderboard, properties, shipping routes, loan sharks with genuine consequences, police encounters, gang attacks, and an 11-tier ranking system that rewards long-term strategy over quick wins.

How It Works

You start as a Nobody with a backpack and 10 units of cocaine. Your goal is to survive from age 18 to 80, trading drugs across the world, building your empire, and climbing the ranks from Nobody all the way to Kingpin — a rank that requires genuine mastery to achieve.

Every decision matters. Carrying too many drugs through airport security risks arrest. Borrowing from loan sharks starts a countdown that ends in violence if you don't repay. Price spikes create huge opportunities, but only for players paying attention to tip-offs. Properties let you launder dirty cash and generate passive income. The market shifts every day.

Built by a Solo Developer

Kingpin was designed and built by a UI/UX designer based in Liverpool, UK. The entire game runs from a single HTML file — no frameworks, no backend servers beyond Firebase for authentication and the leaderboard. It's fast, lightweight, and works on any modern browser.

The game is free to play and always will be. If you enjoy it, the best thing you can do is tell a friend, screenshot your legacy card, and challenge someone to beat your score.
